The ‘World Homoeopathy Day 2026‘ will be celebrated on April 10 at Vigyan Bhawan with a two-day interactive forum hosted by the Ministry of Ayush to highlight advancements in research, public health programs, and policy developments in the field of homoeopathy.

The Ministry of Ayush stated that the event, which is being hosted by the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy, will also include talks on improving scientific validation, ethical standards, and the integration of homoeopathy into mainstream healthcare systems.

The forum will bring together top policymakers, researchers, practitioners, and representatives to discuss the changing role of homeopathy in establishing sustainable healthcare systems.

The function of homoeopathy in preventative and promotive healthcare, lifestyle and chronic disease management, and its role in lowering reliance on traditional pharmacotherapy will be discussed in separate sessions.

The discussions will also cover the significance of combining traditional knowledge with contemporary scientific research, biodiversity protection, and environmentally friendly pharmaceutical practices.

The symposium will highlight the potential of homoeopathy as a long-term healthcare system in light of rising healthcare expenses, the increasing burden of chronic illnesses, and growing issues like antimicrobial resistance.

According to the ministry, the homeopathy approach is distinguished by its emphasis on activating the body’s natural healing processes, as well as its efficient resource usage and little ecological impact.

‘World Homoeopathy Day 2026’ is anticipated to strengthen India’s position as a leader in the promotion of traditional medical practices, according to the announcement.

The occasion will also act as a forum for stakeholders to engage in discussion, cooperation, and innovation in order to improve healthcare’s effectiveness, equity, environmental friendliness, and sustainability.

This year’s celebration, which is centered around the theme “Homoeopathy for Sustainable Health,” will emphasize how homoeopathy provides a comprehensive, affordable, and environmentally friendly approach to healthcare that is consistent with international priorities, such as Universal Health Coverage and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, notably SDG 3 on Good Health and Well-being.

According to the announcement, the ministry has been actively extending the reach of homeopathy through evidence-based practices, improved accessibility, and integration into national health programs. Over the years, homeopathy has gained increasing acceptance worldwide, particularly in community health and public health interventions.

German missionaries were the first to introduce homeopathy to India in 1810 when they started giving out the medications.

There are 3. 45 million licensed homeopathy practitioners, 8,593 homeopathy clinics, 277 homeopathy schools, and 34 research facilities in India.
