In India, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals plans to launch the cancer therapy medication zanubrutinib. This comes after the Indian Drugs Controller General gave his clearance. Brukinsa is a medication used to treat five B-cell cancers.

Glenmark, in collaboration with BeOne Medicines, plans to launch Brukinsa shortly. With this launch, Glenmark’s oncology capabilities are expanded, giving Indian patients access to a treatment that is well-known and efficient throughout the world.

After receiving approval from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals announced on Monday that it will introduce the cancer treatment medication zanubrutinib in India.
In India, zanubrutinib will be sold under the Brukinsa brand.

For the treatment of five different B-cell malignancies—chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma, Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia, mantle cell lymphoma, marginal zone lymphoma, and follicular lymphoma—it is the first and only Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor authorized in India.

The introduction is a major turning point in our cutting-edge cancer portfolio, providing Indian patients with access to an internationally recognized treatment that has been shown to be safe and effective, he continued. On Monday, Glenmark’s stock ended the day 0.68 percent higher at Rs 1,600.85 a share on the BSE.

When compared to the commonly used targeted medication ibrutinib, brukina demonstrated a lower frequency of significant cardiac adverse effects in the ALPINE study for relapsed or refractory chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Heart-related problems caused fewer people to stop using Brukinsa.
